    Listen to my Commercial Demo

A Small Town Guy with a Big City Voice

A little about who I am

I’m Andrew Ward, and I came to voiceover the long way around.

Before stepping behind the mic full-time, I spent years in corporate environments — places where communication had real stakes and how something was said mattered just as much as what was said. That experience shaped the way I listen, the way I take direction, and the way I approach every read: with intention, clarity, and respect for the message.

I grew up in a small town in Illinois, surrounded by sound long before I ever thought of voiceover as a career. My grandfather ran a sound production company and worked in radio and live events, and some of my earliest creative memories involve microphones, speakers, and the quiet magic of audio doing its job. That influence stuck with me, even when my path took a few turns before coming back to it.

What draws me to voiceover today is the human side of it. I’m most interested in work that feels natural, grounded, and real — reads that don’t try to impress, but instead create trust and connection. I care deeply about tone, subtext, and the spaces between words, because that’s where authenticity lives.

I work best when collaboration is part of the process. I value clear communication, thoughtful direction, and creating an environment where the work feels easy and honest. My goal isn’t just to deliver a great take — it’s to make the experience smooth, reliable, and genuinely enjoyable for the people on the other side of the session.

Voiceover, for me, is about showing up as myself and letting that truth serve the work. When something sounds right, it usually is — and that’s the place I try to live.

I strive to make meaningful connections

Voiceover is collaborative by nature, and the work happens when there’s trust on both sides of the mic. I believe meaningful connections are built through listening first, clear communication, and showing up with the same care every time — whether it’s a quick pick up or a full campaign.

I value working relationships that feel honest and grounded. That means asking the right questions, taking direction well, and understanding the intention behind the words, not just the words themselves. My goal is always to make the process feel easy, efficient, and human — so everyone involved can focus on doing their best work.

Over time, I’ve found that clients don’t just come back for a voice — they come back for reliability, consistency, and a collaborative experience they can trust. I take that responsibility seriously, and I approach every project with the same level of attention and respect, no matter the size.

At the end of the day, meaningful connections aren’t about transactions. They’re about shared understanding, good communication, and creating something that feels right together.

How I deliver the best sound

I record from a dedicated, professionally treated voiceover studio designed for clean, consistent, broadcast-ready sound. My primary microphone is a Sennheiser MKH 416, paired with an Apollo Solo interface, a combination trusted across commercial, broadcast, and digital workflows for its clarity, focus, and reliability.

This setup allows me to capture audio that’s natural, present, and free from distractions — without relying on heavy processing or artificial polish. What you hear is an honest, well-recorded performance that drops easily into your mix.

Consistency matters to me. Whether it’s a live session or pickups recorded later, my studio and signal chain ensure matchable sound from take to take, saving time in post and keeping projects moving smoothly.

I’m comfortable working live with clients via Source-Connect and other remote session platforms or delivering independently with clear direction. Either way, my goal is the same: professional audio, delivered reliably, with no technical surprises.

Great sound shouldn’t draw attention to itself. It should support the message quietly and confidently — and that’s exactly how I approach every session.
